BellaPHOS is a synthetic granular ferric hydroxide (GFH) media, ideal for use in aquarium or pond filtration to remove phosphates, silicates & arsenic. Its high surface area has many adsorption sites to irreversibly bind large quantities of phosphate, silicate & arsenic. It is much more effective than aluminum based or other iron based (GFO) phosphate adsorbers. 750mL container will remove 3 ppm of phosphate from 1585 gallons of freshwater or 793 gallons of saltwater. Media is best used in a fluidized bed reactor. Use of large quantities may temporarily lower pH.
